Bible Wars

Gender Debate: SBC Pastors Denounce NIV | Christianity Today | A Magazine of Evangelical Conviction: "Southern Baptists have asked their denomination-owned retail chain to stop selling a best-selling Bible translation, saying it contains errors when it comes to language about gender."

The Catholic translation New American Bible "NAB" issued a new version this year now known as the "RNAB" for Revised New American Bible. While the translation is OK even though awkward in many instances, the commentary notes are totally in line with the ideas of contemporary "Higher Criticism". Too bad there is no Catholic group that is willing to be critical of our new translation as the baptists in the story above.
